Pathways at MBC: How MBC supports students and what parents can do to help their child navigate their future career pathway

At Mandurah Baptist College, we understand that choosing the right path for your child’s future is crucial. That’s why we offer tailored pathways that support each student’s unique strengths and aspirations. Our goal is to create structured plans that not only foster academic success but also provide meaningful, real-world experiences.

In partnership with students and their parents/guardians, we collaborate with TAFEs, universities, employers, and industry professionals to offer a wide range of opportunities. To support this journey, we host the annual Future Directions Expo, connecting students with valuable resources to explore their future options.

Career education begins in Year 9, with career tasters and a one-day excursion designed to introduce students to various industries. In Year 10, career preparation intensifies with career exploration, job-seeking and work health & safety workshops, Try-A-Trade programs, excursions to universities, TAFEs, the Construction Futures Centre, and local businesses. Students also have the opportunity to complete one week of work experience, attend parent information nights, and participate in one-on-one career guidance sessions.

In Years 11 and 12, students have an extensive range of ATAR and General subject programs to choose from. Pathways expand to include TAFE studies, work placements, UniReady, and the TLC Murdoch alternative entry program to university. On-campus, we offer vocational education qualifications in Music, Skills for Work, Finance, and Sport, Aquatics and Recreation.

The opportunities are endless, and we are committed to ensuring that every student finds the pathway that best supports their success and future goals.
