Good afternoon Parents/Guardians,
It has been great to welcome our students back to school today and we look forward to a Semester where we are able to ease back into normality with our small, medium and large scale events. In the last update of Term 2, we released a document highlighting some of these events and what they are likely to look like, to access that document again, please click here. To access the Term 3 Calendars for both Primary and Secondary school, please click here.
Based on the latest health advice as at 21 July, Phase 5 of the WA COVID-19 roadmap, due to be implemented on Saturday, 18 July, has been pushed back. Phase 5 would see remaining restrictions removed, except WA’s hard border and access to remote Aboriginal communities. It would also see the removal of WA’s 2 square metre rule and the 50 per cent capacity for our major venues. The new tentative date for Phase 5 will now be Saturday, 1 August. A final decision on whether Phase 5 can proceed on this date will be decided in about 2 weeks’ time.
The ELC Open Day, which was postponed during Term 1, will now be held on Saturday 1 August from 11.00am to 2.00pm. The ELC Open Day is going to be lots of fun for toddlers and children in Kindergarten to Year 2 and their families. It will be an excellent opportunity to invite your family and friends with Primary School children, who don’t already attend MBC, to experience our excellent school and register their children for future enrolment.
In our communication to families at the end of last term we indicated that, due to the upgrade of the College’s database systems, parent/guardian access to SEQTA Engage may have been interrupted over the term break. Today, you would have received an email with instructions to re-activate your SEQTA Engage account. Following this, parents/guardians will again be able to access SEQTA Engage.
As a reminder for Senior School Year 10 students, Immunisations will be held on Thursday 23 July in room 1.1. Students are permitted to wear their sports uniform that day. We would also like to take this opportunity to remind Year 10 parents that on the on the evening of Wednesday 29 July, the Senior School will host a ‘Future Directions-Lite’ event, with a mini-expo involving stalls from each of our Learning Areas in regards to their course offerings for Year 11 in 2021. Following this, there will be a presentation for Year 10 students and parents in the Theatre in regards to course selection, Year 11 and 12 studies, the ATAR, vocational training options and post-school pathways. All Year 10 students and parents are encouraged to attend.
We are excited to announce that as of Term 3, in an effort to better support College families, our Uniform Shop will now be open from Monday to Friday from 8.15am-9.30am and 1.00pm-3.30pm. From time to time the shop may close or adjust hours due to school holidays bulk fittings, stock arrival etc.
Please remember that all of the updates we have sent you so far are available to read via our News page on our website, accessible by clicking here.
