Monday 7 September Update

Good afternoon Parents/Guardians,

Based on the latest health advice as at 18 August, Phase 5 of the WA COVID-19 roadmap has been pushed back to at least 24 October. Phase 5 would see remaining restrictions removed, except WA’s hard border and access to remote Aboriginal communities. It would also see the removal of WA’s 2 square metre rule and the 50 per cent capacity for our major venues. The College will continue to update families as we plan Semester 2 events in accordance to these guidelines.

As a gentle reminder, if at any stage someone in your household has travelled interstate and is returning, we request students to remain at home if self-isolation is required for an immediate family member and it is being done at the home residence.

Attendance at the Primary School Athletics Carnival – Wednesday 9 September
We are looking forward to a great day this week when we hold the Primary School House Athletics Carnival. To ensure the safety of students, staff and parents/guardians in attendance, please note the following COVID-19 Large Event precautions that will need to be observed by everyone on the day.
• Physical distancing between adults from different family groups and school staff is mandatory. Ensure a 1.5 metre ‘bubble’ (i.e. in all directions) around each person/family group. Members from the same family may be seated together with no physical distancing between individuals. However, a 1.5 metre ‘bubble’ should be planned around each family group.
• Use the available hand-sanitiser on entry and at other times as required.
• Do not attend the athletics carnival if you are unwell.
• Maintain a 1.5 metre ‘bubble’ between people when lining up for food or coffee/drinks.

Thank you for your cooperation and support. We look forward to seeing you on Wednesday.

K-12 Learning Journey
We are excited to announce that our annual Learning Journey event will be held on Wednesday 16 September from 5.00pm-8.00pm. We invite current and future families to visit the College to view learning area displays, partake in games and activities and get a bite to eat from our student business food stalls. A comprehensive COVID-19 Safety Plan is being prepared, and additional distancing and hygiene measures will be in place. Please note that whilst we welcome you to bring extended family and friends along to partake in the outdoor festivities of our Learning Journey evening we ask that you please limit entry into our Primary School classrooms to immediate family only. To ensure physical distancing, a booking system will be in place for classroom entry and details of this will be sent to families soon. The Senior School learning area displays will be held in the Lakes Theatre and are open to all K-12 families and friends. We will monitor this space closely to ensure compliance with physical distancing guidelines and hygiene practices. We are looking forward to a fantastic evening celebrating College culture and student work.

Our annual MMADD (Music, Media, Art, Design and Drama) showcase will be held on Thursday and Friday this week. This year, tickets will be available from Eventbrite to purchase in advance, no sales will be available at the door. Book your tickets here.

Please remember that all of the updates we have sent you so far are available to read via our News page on our website, accessible by clicking here
