Monday 12 October Update

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Based on the latest health advice as at 18 August, Phase 5 of the WA COVID-19 roadmap has been pushed back to at least 24 October. Phase 5 would see remaining restrictions removed, except WA’s hard border and access to remote Aboriginal communities. It would also see the removal of WA’s 2 square metre rule and the 50 per cent capacity for our major venues. The College will continue to update families as we plan Semester 2 events in accordance to these guidelines.

As a gentle reminder, if at any stage someone in your household has travelled interstate and is returning, we request students to remain at home if self-isolation is required for an immediate family member and it is being done at the home residence.

Primary School Assemblies

If you plan to attend a Primary School assembly this term, due to the continuance of Stage 4 COVID-19 restrictions in Western Australia, please maintain a space of one space/seat between family groups in the Lakes Theatre.

Senior School Awards Morning and Evening

Due to the continuance of Stage 4 restrictions in Western Australia, the Senior School will be splitting its annual Awards Evening into an Awards Morning for Years 7-9 students and an Awards Evening for Years 10-12 students. Both events will take place on Wednesday 21 October in the Lakes Theatre, with the Awards Morning commencing at 9.00am and the Awards Evening commencing at 7.00pm. While the Awards Ceremonies remain a compulsory event for students, the College will need to manage parental attendance so that overall numbers in the Theatre do not exceed guidelines. With this in mind, parents of award winners will be invited to the event once award winners have been finalised in Week 1 of Term 4. Should there be spare capacity in the Theatre following this, there may be a further, limited release of seats.

Further information in regards to the Awards Morning and Awards Evening, including the management of parental and family attendance, will be distributed closer to the event.

Uniform Reminders

Primary – Students are to wear their summer uniform to school for term 4. If the weather is cool, they can wear their College jumper or track suit top on their PE/Sport days.

Secondary – Students are permitted to wear their winter uniform for the next two weeks of term as they transition into full summer uniform. Please note that students are not allowed to wear components of both uniforms together and will be required to be in full summer uniform by Week 3 of Term 4

Kind regards,

Rob Gratton and Tracy Holmes
