We are fully aware that in many regards this is a time of great uncertainty for families. As a valued member of our College community we would like you to know that there are options available to financially support you during this time:
- Pause in fee payments: We know this is a time where many families may have their income affected. Should it be needed, MBC families can request a fee pause for Term 2. In that situation, finance staff will not contact nominating families during Term 2, effectively extending fee payments for 3 months until end of February 2021. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to request a fee pause or if you have any further queries regarding this option.
- Edstart: Edstart provides families at Mandurah Baptist College with two options to help you spread large up-front school fees into more manageable payments.Click here for more information.
- Flexible payment arrangements: i.e. restructuring the frequency of your fee payments, further fee extensions if required. All of which will be discussed based on your specific position. Please be in touch with accounts email@example.com if you think this option could best your needs.
- Fee concessions are available through application with the College. Conditions apply and you will need to contact the College to discuss this option.
Please be assured that we as a College are continuously working on measures to support our families during this time. We will continue to communicate any updates with families as soon as they arise.

SENIOR SCHOOL UPDATE:
Attendance Week 9
As the College has a duty of care to its students, if you are keeping your child at home due to COVID-19 and they will not be physically attending the school campus, please ensure that you have let the College know. Many families have already informed us of this. For Week 9, if the College has not been notified that a student is isolating and/or working from home online but the student is not present physically at the College, an absentee SMS will still be sent home, even if the student is present in class Teams meetings. Staff will be tracking attendance in Year 7-10 MESH and Year 11-12 WACE and VET class’ Teams meetings. Should students not be joining in with scheduled Teams meetings from home, notification will also be sent home.
While we are transitioning to a focus on Online Curriculum Delivery from Monday 30 March, please be assured that the College will remain open for students to attend should they still need to attend, in line with the Premier’s statement from yesterday that ‘schools will remain open but if possible, families should keep your kids’ home from school’.
For families where children cannot be left alone at home in Week 10, we will have places for students to remain supervised on the school site from Monday to Wednesday. To register for this, please click here.
Year 12 Students
This morning we awoke to hear there was a discussion about the WACE Examinations and the changing requirements for our Year 12s. While there is still been no formal communication about how current events may impact Year 12 activities this year, such as WACE Examinations, there will need to be adjustments and adaption as we continue in the year.
Given the uncertain nature of the current situation, it is important that our Year 12s keep on track, keep working towards their goals and maintain their focus on their studies, even in the midst of a difficult and uncertain time.
As we mentioned in our 4pm outline yesterday, acknowledging that the current schooling situation has been quite disruptive to schooling in general, and particularly to our Year 12 students as they seek to achieve WACE, on Monday and Tuesday of Week 10 of this term we are running Year 12 Online Intensives – these are scheduled online classes in support of our students.
Year 12 families will be receiving the schedule for these 2 hour sessions today.
Please remember that all of the updates we have sent you so far are available to read via our News page on our website, accessible by clicking here.
